Based on our research from wikepedia, America was justified for dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima because Japan had bombed them first under no speculation, and it dragged America into war that they wanted to remain neutral in.

The United States was justified in making the horrid decision of dropping the atomic bombs on Japan because it was necessary to end the war, Japan was planning on bombing the U.S., and the Japanese already surprise attacked Pearl Harbor.

Re-word the thesis this way: "The United States was justified in making the tough decision to drop the atomic bombs on Japan because it ended the war quickly saving american lives, and retaliated against the Japanese for their earlier attack on Pearl Harbor."

The decsision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima was justified with the intentions to end the war and save american lives, but after its failed attempt it increased war tensions and after all its destruction the second bombing in Nagasaki was unjustifiable.

After the first bomb failed to end the war and the extent of it's destruction was known, the use of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki was unjustifiable."

    Thesis Statement:

We feel that the dropping of the atmoic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was unjustified becasue they had many options insteads of bombing these people which lead into other wars instead of just stopping this one war. One of the options was to make an appeasment to settle disputs in a reasonable manner and to make certian agreements to not involve eachother. Another options would have been to just drop one on the bombs to warn them, and to get them to agree not to attack on us and to make agreements therefore we wouldnt have had to drop the second and or third one.

    1. Alyssa and Yesenia,
Great ideas, but lets condense to this:
"The dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was unjustified because the U.S. had other options such as diplomacy and the invasion of Japan."
(you can't say one option was to just drop one and then get them to surrender because that is what we did - we dropped one and waited 3 days for them to surrender before dropping the second).

The atomic bombs, dropped in 1945, by the direct order of president Truman were a smart decision to protect and save American lives. Due to the fact that the bombs had multiple purposes such as offering a warning to the Soviets and hopefully putting a timely end to a deadly war, America was able to justify their actions. A war originally provoked by the Japanese, America's actions were clearly justified by the main goal of saving American lives.

As a result of the atomic bombs dropped 1945, during World War II, was a direct demand of President Truman was unnecessary and unwise. In addition, Truman and his advisors had ulterior motives such as Amerinca engaging in "atomic diplomacy." Also, the bombings were used as a way to intimidate the Soviets. In addition, there was an aproximation of 120,000 deaths. As a result, America failed to consider effecient alternatives to dropping the atomic bombs.

In 1945 the first atomic bomb, nicknamed Little Boy, was dropped on the city of Hiroshima causing 70,000 citizens to instantly die. A few days later a secong bomb, nicknamed Fat Man, was dropped on the city of Nagasaki killing more than 30,000 innocent people instantly. Due to these extreme casualties and deaths, the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was completely unjustified because it devastated both cities by killing more 100,000 innocent civilians and the use of the bomb besmirched America's long lasting reputation.

  23. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, their intent was to bring the war onto US soil. This would have prolonged the war, depleted the US of money and resources, and kill many American lives (it is estimated that millions more Americans would have died if the war continued). Ultimately, Truman was justified in dropping the atomic bombs because he saved the country from chaos and economic trouble.

Yes the Atomic bombing on Japan can be justified. The Japanese were preparing the bloodiest reception ever for the Allies if they invaded Honshu, an island in Japan. Truman would never have been able to hold office if he had a working weapon and choose not to use it. Also, the Alliance between the Western powers and the Soviets was growing weak after the fall of Germany. Harry Truman had to show he was unafraid to use a weapon of mass destruction, especially one that only the United States possessed at that time. This caused the Emperor to surrender and even though 70,000 were killed, World War II was now over.

Never begin a thesis with "YEs". Edit to, " The atomic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are justified because the Japanese were prepared to fight to the death should a land invasion occur and Truman could not pass up the use of such an effective weapon that could end the war so swiftly. "

  34. The United States fairly warned Japan of an upcoming attack and Japan decided not to take action. Truman was justified in dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because he saved millions of American lives and ended, what could've been, the bloodiest battle in American history.

I think the invasions were justified because warnings were mentioned. I think they were also unjustified because means of violence could have been substituted for more reasonable conflict than killing innocent people. The people in charge of the upcoming attacks could have resolved problems rather than brainwash the nation to murder the enemy.
